The Lebanese Regie for Tobacco has begun receiving tobacco crops from the south ahead of previously-scheduled dates, “out of its commitment to easing the burdens of farmers, particularly in villages affected by bombing and displacement.”
The Regie announced that there are four crop-receiving centers: Siddiqine, Bir al-Salasil, Srifa and Tibnine. As for the Nabatiyeh committee, it will begin its operations tomorrow, with general satisfaction reported among the farmers.
