The Lebanese Regie for Tobacco has announced that, starting next Monday, it will begin disbursing advance payments of USD 2.5 (two and a half dollars) per kilogram of tobacco to Bekaa tobacco growers who have declared their crops for 2024.
In its statement, the Regie emphasized its commitment to supporting farmers during Lebanon’s challenging times, stating:
"In line with its social responsibility and in light of the difficult circumstances faced by tobacco farmers in the Bekaa, the Lebanese Regie for Tobacco has announced its readiness to provide advance payments of USD 2.5 per kilogram of tobacco to growers who have declared their crops for the year 2024."
The payments will be distributed at the Lebanese Army’s barracks in Ablah from November 11th to December 15th, inclusive
