The Regie Resumes its Anti-Trafficking Operations

The Lebanese Regie announced the vigorous resumption of its Anti-Trafficking Unit’s operations, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to combating tobacco smuggling. This step comes after a forced suspension of activities due to the disruptions caused by the war in Lebanon.

In collaboration with the Lebanese Army, the unit conducted raids in the Hayssa – Al-Masooudieh and Jabal Al-Rihan areas in northern Lebanon. These efforts led to the seizure of significant quantities of smuggled tobacco products and the uncovering of a counterfeit workshop for mu’assal. Seizure reports have been filed against the violators and sent for consideration by the competent judicial authorities.
