The President and Director General of the Lebanese Regie, Engineer Nassif Seklaoui, held a year-end meeting with senior and mid-level management highlighting the Institution’s achievements despite the severe challenges posed by the war.
Seklaoui highlighted the impact of the war on the agricultural sector, commending the efforts of the agriculture and tobacco leaf teams for successfully collecting over 90% of farmers' tobacco crops. This remarkable accomplishment was achieved despite significant logistical and security hurdles.
He also lauded the contributions of the technical team, whose efforts ensured uninterrupted industrial production. Their work stimulated the Regie's market presence and secured its business continuity during an exceptionally difficult period.
Seklaoui expressed heartfelt gratitude to the employees who demonstrated great courage, risking their lives to maintain operations amid the ongoing war. “Their resilience and sacrifices were instrumental in safeguarding the Regie’s mission and ensuring its continued success,” he said.
He also commended the Regie’s pioneering role in humanitarian initiatives, which have always been a distinctive feature of its identity. In particular, he acknowledged its support for retired workers, which has contributed to fostering social stability and security.
Looking ahead, Seklaoui unveiled plans for a landmark celebration in 2025, marking the Regie’s 90th anniversary. The occasion will include the launch of a the Regie’s new identity reflecting the institution’s forward-looking vision and strategic direction.
