Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received in his office on Thursday a delegation from the Lebanese Regie for Tobacco.
Headed by the Regie’s chairman and general manager, Eng. Nassif Seklawi, the delegation included Board of Director members Eng. Georges Hobeika, Dr. Issam Salman and Dr. Mazen Abboud.
During the meeting, the delegation briefed Berri on the financial results achieved by the Regie for the year 2024 and on the volume of Treasury yields. They also mentioned the Regie’s continuous development on various levels, highlighting the measures implemented to protect tobacco farmers and enhance the sector’s sustainability.
The delegation informed Berri about the measures adopted by the Regie during the Israeli aggression to ensure the continuity of work in its institutions and the sustainability of production despite the difficult circumstances.
In turn, Berri praised the Regie, describing it as a model for public administrations to follow.
