04 February 2025

As part of the implementation of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, the Regie's Health and Safety team participated in the preliminary workshop on updating the Stockholm Convention National Implementation Plan in Lebanon, which was held in Beirut on February 5, 2025.

The workshop focused on reviewing and updating the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) management plan in line with international agreements and global best practices, in addition to strengthening the legal and institutional framework in this field. The workshop also identified gaps and opportunities for improving the management of these substances and explored cooperation between different sectors, including waste management, chemicals and plastics, to support a sustainable circular economy.

The Regie's participation in the workshop reflects its ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with environmental standards and promote occupational health and safety in order to maintain a safe and sustainable work environment.
